ferragam-oh!

an estate sale last week brought a whole closet full of ferragamos to the shop.
some are simple while others boast delightful details--but all of them are classic!

they are all marked 8 narrow or 8.5 narrow, which could translate to anywhere from a 7 to 8.5 narrow depending on the shoe.
come find your italian cinderella slipper!

and the winner is...

and the winner of our first monthly show-us-your-style drawing is...Lance!

Lance and his friends Leslie and Kemba actually came into our shop for the first time this month while they were travelling through town for work. Kerry told them about our contest and they sent us great photos they took during an impromptu photo shoot in their hotel room!
We look forward to their next visit, when Lance can spend his $25 gift certificate.

since we conceived the contest as a way of thanking our local regulars--and because we are still celebrating two years of crimson & clover!--we decided to do another drawing for a runner up who will receive a $15 gift certificate. and that winner is Nicole!  the photo above was her entry, but you have no doubt noticed her rad personal style around town or featured on local blogs like street style sacramento.

thanks to all those who entered! and please do enter again during december to be part of this month's drawing.

there are still a few more days to get in on our november drawing for a $25 gift certificate. just post a pic of yourself wearing an outfit featuring something you got at c&c on our facebook page to enter....

this saturday, support local businesses and knock out some of that holiday shopping around town. stick it to the man and shop tax-free all day at c&c (i.e. we'll pay your tax and leave a little extra change in your wallet for more important things...)

WE dig Cloisonne

Cloisonné is an ancient technique for decorating metalwork objects, in recent centuries using vitreous enamel, and in older periods also inlays of cut gemstones, glass, and other materials. The resulting objects can also be called cloisonné. The decoration is formed by first adding compartments (cloisons in French[1]) to the metal object by soldering or adhering silver or gold wires or thin strips placed on their edges. These remain visible in the finished piece, separating the different compartments of the enamel or inlays, which are often of several colors. Cloisonné enamel objects are worked on with enamel powder made into a paste, which then needs to be fired in a kiln.

vintage & vines

wish we had remembered to take more pictures, but here is just a tiny peek at what was the first annual Vintage and Vines event at Oak Farm Vineyards in Lodi, Ca
it was a sweet little evening of fashion, local wines, and fresh appetizers.
Sacramento was well-represented by three local boutiques (ours plus Vintage YSJ and Fringe) and a trio of bloggers (hey girls!). we had the pleasure of seeing a few of our regular shoppers and made many new friends, too.
the event is going annual, so we will keep you posted when another rolls around.
thank you to our lovely customer cheryl and Oak Farm Vineyards for inviting us to be a part of event!
