Lookbook (part 2)

All photos by Sarah Dawson

Sarah and Christina both came into the store a couple weeks ago. We started to chat and they said they would love to do photos. Well they both were very excited and we were as well. They are true professionals, they had their models, make-up, and hair team all ready to go. They had free range to pick out the clothing and accessories.
Thanks again ladies hope to work with you again.

P.S most of the items have already sold! Don't worry you know we always have new stuff in the store.

speakeasy (time capsule collection, pt. 2)

more from the collection we acquired earlier in the month, this time focused on 1930s fashions.

prohibition---and therefore speakeasies---only lasted from 1920 until 1933 in most parts of the united states.  so maybe some of these garments weren't constructed during the thick of it, but they most certainly capture the heady vibe of these clandestine night spots...

...and the art of dressing.

we hope that sharing photos of items from this collection inspire you (as much as they have us). to dress beautifully.  to create.  to love.

please note:  these pieces are too fragile to hang in our shop, but they are still suitable to be worn for special occasions. prices are available upon request. viewings by appointment. serious inquiries, only.

p.s.  the end of january sale is still on.  deals from $1-5 on the patio out in front of the shop all week.

it's a nice day for a white wedding (time capsule collection, pt. 1)

last week we had the opportunity to purchase a collection of vintage clothing from a wonderful lady who had lovingly gathered pieces through years of working estate sales in the midwest united states. throughout this week, at any spare moment we had, we would begin to gently sift though these treasures, oohing and ahhing in unison at pieces we never thought we would be lucky enough to find.

today was the first day we began to catalog the collection, and we started with a group of edwardian whites. oh, the details! shades of white, embroidery and lace, light as air and so soft to the touch.

these pieces are too fragile to hang in our shop, but they are still suitable to be worn for special occasions. prices are available upon request. viewings by appointment. serious inquiries, only.

we will continue to catalog this special collection in coming days and weeks, and we will share our progress.  we also hosted a photo shoot today, featuring a local team of photographers and clothing and accessories from the shop, and hope to share those photos with you soon.
thanks so much. xo

things we love right now

1.  Sweater Dresses:  It's been so cold this week! Adorable meets practical with our current selection of vintage sweater dresses.  Choices include sweetly detailed lavender, pleated and belted in striking orange, and classic navy by St. Johns Knits.

2. Fringe:  We are loving feathers, old fur, and fringe at the moment. We've made a bunch of feathery and fringed jewelry, and we have vintage fur trimmed pieces, too. The mannequin is now wearing a vintage wrap waist maxi dress, metallic gold fringed shawl, and two handmade one of a kind necklaces made of repurposed pieces.

3. Jax, the part-time shop cat!
